Socio-environmental projects
Saving the Yaguareté, recovering used vegetable oils, collecting and storing rainwater, protecting natural soils and slopes, promoting fair trade, agro-ecological production and food sovereignty are all issues that must be worked on in a joint manner. Social and environmental issues are the core of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Training and strengthening social organizations to undertake such actions in a sustained and replicable manner are part of main work that the Network is currently doing.
The Small Grants Program of the Fund for the Global Environment has been providing this support for 6 years in the NEA and the Rural Communities Network was selected to accompany these projects and those organizations. Since then, we have started workshops, regional gatherings and good practices fairs; we have generated valuable exchanges, advised from a distance and also through monitoring and evaluation in the field. A continuous and silent work on an area equivalent to several European countries. We invite you discover it through the voice of its protagonists.
