The Rural Communities Network Foundation has been selected by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Small Grants Programme (SGP Argentina) Global Environmental Facilities (GEF) to execute the Strategic Project of Accompanying, Training, Evaluating, and Monitoring (PEACM) in 2016 and 2017. This project seeks to accompany, monitor, and evaluate the development of the initiatives, financially-funded by SGP Argentina, with the goal of strengthening sustainable institutions for each project.
The Small Grants Programme Argentina (SGP Argentina) is an initiative from the Global Environmental Facilities (GEF) which lies within the framework of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It seeks to find local solutions to global environmental issues by supporting community-based organizations (CBO), the towns in question, groups of farmers and women, organizations for young adults and children that deal with issues that focus on both the social community and the environmental points of view, and non-governmental organizations (NGO).
To accompany the development in the vulnerable zones of the community that stem from rurality is one of the missions of the Rural Communities Network Foundation. Through PEACM and alongside SGP Argentina, we are realizing this idea in the provinces of Formosa, Chaco, Misiones, Corrientes, Entre Rios, and northern Santa Fe. There are 68 projects attempting to promote a sustainable solution within their communities.
In the video below, we share some testimonies of people that were impacted with this stragetic initiative.
